Shish Taouk (marinated, grilled chicken)

Grill this on the BBQ, broil it in the oven, or quickly saute it in a hot cast iron skillet. This is wonderful served with rice, lentils and pita, or cold, stuffed in a pita with hummus (seasoned chick pea puree), pickled turnips and salad. Restaurants serve versions of this simply grilled with lemon juice and minced garlic. Simple and delicious.

2 pounds chicken breasts -boned and skinned and halved
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 
2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil 
2 tablespoons lemon juice 
1/4 teaspoon "7 Spice" powder (from Middle Eastern market) - or 1 good pinch allspice and and tiny pinch clove powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper 

Toss chicken in all remaining ingredients and marinate overnight. Grill.
